About

POWER HOUSE CRICKET CLUB was formed in 1989 by a group of guys who decided they wanted to spend the summer enjoying a friendly game of cricket together.  Beginning with one side playing in a YMCA matting competition, we now field five strong teams across B and C grades of the Mercantile Cricket Association.

Last season we were premiers in MCA's B Sunday and C South grades.  In season 2005-06 and 2006-07 we took out back to back MCA A-grade premierships. Since inception, the club has won 15 premierships in total with the most recent being the C North in 2020-21.

The MCA is a turf competition and through them we are able to utilise the grounds located in Fawkner Park as our home grounds.

The Power House Cricket Club is affiliated with Power House & Lord Somers Camp, which is recognised as one of the premier youth leadership and development organisations in Australia.  PH&LSC run many programs and activities to provide unique opportunities for individuals from different backgrounds to develop leadership and personal skills.  It involves a wide range of people, both young and old, in voluntary service.  These activities include a number of youth camps aimed at developing leadership and personal skills in the kids that attend.  Camps are also run for youth with diverse chronic illnesses or physical disabilities.  For more information visit the PH&LSC website at https://www.lscph.org.au/.

Power House also fields a number of other successful sporting clubs in Australian Rules Football, Rugby, Basketball, Rowing and Hockey.
